There are two small ports for boats from Samaria.

Samaria Gorge is a very popular gorge, it is approximately 18km long and it is a great big walk where you can enjoy the nature.

Those who don’t want to walk that long, they can access Samaria  by boat from Sfakia to Agia Roumeli,

which is at the end of Samaria and  can then walk uphill till the middle of the Gorge.

Loutro is a secret gem in the area.

Another very interesting excursion is from Sfakia by the boat  to Loutro, Agia Roumeli, Sougia, Palaiochora and Gaydos.

Near by is also  Fragkokastello with a beautiful castle on the beach  and a bit further the famous beaches of Korakas and Agia Marina.
