Mochlos is a small picturesque fishing village 95km away from Heraklion airport and 36km from Sitia airport.

It is located in the gulf of Mirabello in Eastern side of the bay. The whole village life happens mainly around the quiet bay in the center

where you can eat and swim but you can find other beaches and coves in the east of the village, to Sfaka as well .

Two more small pebble beaches exist near the small port of “Limenaria” west of the village.

It is ideal for quiet holidays, a great place to relax, meet with friendly locals  and enjoy  a peaceful meal in the few waterfront tavernas and cafes.

While there, you can visit the ancient Minoan settlement where houses and tombs have been discovered as well as the Psira islet just opposite Mochlos waterfront.

With your rent  car you can drive from Mochlos to Agios Nikolaos, Elounda and  Spinalonga island for  a guided boat trip.

You can, also, easily reach Ierapetra and take the boat trip to Chrissi island.

Pahia Ammos, Istron and Voulisma beach are close too and worth visiting .

Agia Fotia, Myrto,s Tertsa and Arvi are some beutiful beaches in the south, ideal for relaxed excursions.

Daily trips in Crete, from Mochlos

Although it is difficult to leave the beautiful fishing village of Mohlos since you already have your rental car from
Autorentals Crete, some excursions are suggested since the beautiful village will be there on the way back 😉
Starting east and passing through the traditional villages of Sfaka, Lastros, Myrsini and the inner and outer Mouliana, you reach Sitia.
After you have made the necessary visits that you have organized, the beach of Vai is waiting for you to enjoy your swim and the shade under the palm trees.
Very close is also the deserted beach of Ermoupoli hidden behind a hill.
Then, you can have lunch in one of the taverns in the area either in Vai itself or on the beach of Kouremenos but also in Palaikastro, the largest village in the area.
On the way back, a stop at the monastery of Toplou and the winery is a must.
Driving towards Mochlos you can take a walk in any one of the villages which are all beautiful and traditional.
